Reset WINDOWS XP password

often it happens you forget your windows password and don't know how to go about it.
Here is a complete DIY(Do It Yourself) procedure to get out of this crisis.

All you need is an access to another PC with:
1) CD-RW drive
2) ISO burning software
3) Internet

now lets get started :
i) go to : http://www.prime-expert.com/ebcd/download.php

ii) download the file (this is the free demo lite version)

iii) install it , open the folder and execute EBCD file (it will open in command prompt)

iv) you will get a ISO file

v) burn (write) this file to the CD

after you done with this all you need to do is ,
put this disk in your computer in which the access is to be granted without the password

i)boot your computer

ii)
go to the BIOS by pressing the key (it can be F1 or F10) depending on your system.

iii) now change the boot priority from your hard disk to the CD/DVD drive, save changes
and exit.

iv) follow the instructions on the screen when your computer is booted and
press CTRL+ALT+DEL(this should restart your computer, remove the disk from the drive)

this should grant you access on any windows system without asking you for password

THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME ,IF YOU AIN'T LUCKY TRY:

1) Offline NT Password
2) Oph Crack
3) Knoppix STD
4) Dreampack PL

IF YOU FORGOT YOUR ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD ,but still lucky to access your computer through other user account or say guest account
then you can try the following:

1. go to START>run>type cmd

2. then type : net user , then press enter.

this should show you the accounts on your computer

3. now type :
net user administrator *
[spacespace<*>]

it will tell you to type a new password

OTHER OPTIONS INCLUDE:

go to safe mode by pressing
F6 ,that should help too.

DISCLAIMER :

don't use this program quite often as they may cause some irreparable damages ,like in my case icons in my control panel are missing
also you cant change the password from control panel you need to use EBCD to change it
